Large Animal was founded by Josh Welber and Wade Tinney in 2001 with the goal of creating unique casual games with an independent focus. 10 years, more than 90 games, and many awards later, Large Animal has emerged as a leader in the Casual and Social Games spaces.
We’ve been focused exclusively on social gaming since 2008 and have developed products on all major social platforms-- from Facebook and Facebook Connect, MySpace, Bebo, Orkut, and Hyves (Summer 2010) to iPhone & iOS and the web. All are powered by our cross-network social game platform – Toga. In addition to aggregating audiences across multiple social contexts, this platform provides a rich toolset for managing social games as a service, including retail marketing of virtual goods, customer support tools, rich analytics, and more (click here for more details).
Although “social games” is a category with a lot of buzz, our philosophy for social game success remains simple: make fun games that are easy to learn but rich in depth and give friends more ways to connect with each other. Our games are skillfully designed to appeal to players across the gaming spectrum-- from non-gamers to hardcore.
In addition to developing our own intellectual property, we’ve also teamed up with partners such as Microsoft, LEGO, Mattel, MTV, Discovery Kids, Cartoon Network, New York Philharmonic, Swatch, Arm & Hammer, Henkel Brands (Tone) and many other well-known companies to create innovative games, products and marketing opportunities that connect users, fans and consumers across platforms. A full list of our partners can be seen below.
